Since Houston Texas is the fourth largest city in the USA, there are plenty of suburbs to live in and still be within sight of the big city life. Besides, Texans like the best and biggest of everything, and Houston is a big city that has a history of being the first. Houston was the first word spoken on the moon and the first to build an air conditioned sports arena. Because of these first facts, the Houston area has become the first choice people make as a place to live in and around the biggest city with the first and best of everything found.

The best part of living anywhere around Houston is the fact that the city is so big, there are so many suburbs and homes to choose from. The list of suburbs are too many to mention every one, but this list will give you a clue of where to begin looking for your new home within the vicinity of the largest city in the Lone Star State.

PINEY POINT:

Piney Point Village is a small town with a population of 3, 197. It sits in Harris County in south-east Texas, just nine miles west of downtown Houston. Although your mailing address will be the zip code of Houston, Piney Point does not think of itself as a part of the big city life, but only the wealthy live here, as Piney Point Village is the most wealthy location to live in Texas.

BELLAIRE:

Located within the Houston-Sugar Land and Baytown area, Bellaire has a population within itself of around 15,000 citizens who call this suburb of Houston home. The city is famous for its Little League Baseball teams which played in the Little League World Series from time to time. Besides, its city High School is noted for its academic and athletic programs, so this is a great suburb to live in.

CYPRESS:

Cypress Texas sits inside the city limits of Houston, but claims to be uncorrupted by big city life. Located along US Highway 290, it's twenty miles from downtown Houston and what was once a rural area has become one of Houston's largest suburban communities, due to large scale residential construction, as well as commercial development.

THE WOODLANDS:

This large master planned community sits between Montgomery and Harris county, and with its population of more than 55,000, it's a popular spot to live in, but small portions of The Woodlands extend into the ETJ of Shanandoah and Conroe. The Woodlands is located 28 miles north of downtown Houston, and what began as a suburban development, it's attracted corporations into the area as well, which resulted in this being a popular place to live.

SUGAR LAND:

Sugar Land began as a sugar plantation in the mid 1800's, but since its incorporation in 1959, Sugar Land is now one of the favored suburb areas to live in. Located in Fort Bend County, it sits 20 miles southwest of Houston. It acts as a complete city within itself with a police department and fire department as well as it's own water system. Today, Sugar Land is ranked #1 among the states 45 largest cities, with a population of diversity.

Although the list of suburban communities is endless around the Houston area, these are the best when it comes to quality family life. Homes for sale in Texas tend to be more reasonably priced than anywhere else, and with Houston's wide variety of suburban life to choose from, you can't lost when you choose to move anywhere around the fourth largest city in the USA.
